eduroam is now available

■About eduroam

※In Sophia University (inc. Mejiro, Ichigaya, Hadano campus), you can use eduroam at all wifi spot for sophiawifi.

※In other Universities and organizations, the eduroam spot may be limited. Please ask ICT relational office of the institute you visit. 

■How to use
Since there are no official manual in English provided, please ask google or Media Center staff. 
The Previous set up of your device is necessary to use eduroam.

■Difference between sophiawifi and eduroam
For those who belong to Sophia University and can use sophiawifi, Please do NOT use eduroam on Sophia University's Campus. 
Eduroam on Sophia University is being set up for non-Sophian and therefore Campus-Network Services such as Online Journal viewing, License authentication, some web site for campus network are not available via eduroam.

■Guest
As far as the organization your guests belong to is joining eduroam , they can use eduroam with their eduroam id & password. Please ask their organization about their id & password.

Moodle Suspension & E-mail Address Policy Change

◆Moodle Suspension

Sophia University Moodle will suspend due to the upgrade and annually backup. 
The schedule is not fixed as follows.

From 2017/Mar./13 09:00 to 2017/Mar./16 17:00 (occasionally on 17th).

We Media Center thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance.


◆Registered E-mail Address Policy Change
On Moodle, your sophia e-mail address is registered as default and you can change it to your favorite e-mail.
After the upgrade, this change will not be available any more and you will receive all e-mails from Moodle on your sophia e-mail address.
Please use sophia e-mail address or set up e-mail forwarding to your private e-mail address.

Opening hours during Entrance Exam.

Please note that COM rooms and CALL rooms(Yotsuya Campus)will be open within a restricted time frame during Entrance Examinations (2rd,Feb.-9th,Feb.).

Please see COM/CALL Info System for the detailed schedule.
COM room is open after the admission restriction is cancelled.

Renewal/Deletion of Computer System Account

Accounts on computer system for graduating students and retiring faculty members will be deleted at the end of autumn semester (March 30, at noon). 
Read the following carefully and make sure what you have to do regarding the renewal/deletion of your account.


 ※After your account is deleted:
  • You are not able to use any computers in the PC/CALL rooms.
  • Pweb/lctweb service become unavailable; You cannot create nor browse your website.
  • Files saved in My Folder (O drive) are deleted.
  • Files saved in home directory (including UNIX files) are deleted.
  • [SOME USERS] E-mail service becomes unavailable; you cannot send/receive messages. Mail box is deleted.
  • [Those who will retire] E-mail address will be changed. Present E-mail address becomes unavailable. Present mail box is deleted.

  • You will be handed them as you receive new student ID card in April. 
  • If you need to check your Sophia Mail during the period above, please set transfer settings to your other e-mail address in advance. (You can not send e-mails from Sophia Mail address though.)
