The on-demand printer system was updated in August 2023. As a result, the usage of the on-demand printer has changed as follows.
Additional Installation Locations
- In addition to the former locations, on-demand printers are located on the 4F of Bldg.#2, 3F of Bldg.#3 (COM-Z), 3F of Bldg.#6, Active Commons on B1F of Bldg.#9, 1F of Bldg.#11, Learning Commons on B1F of Central Library.

- Printers can also be used as scanners. The scanned file will be sent to your Sophia mail address.

Change in Printing Point System
Before: B&W 1pt/sheet, Color 8pt/sheet (same number of points for both single-sided)
After change: B&W 1pt/side, Color 8pt/side
*When printing double-sided, the same points are consumed as for printing two sheets on single sides.
Additional Purchases When Printing Points Are Used Up
Before: Up to 300p for Undergraduates, 200p for Graduates, not carried over to the next semester
After Change: Unlimited purchases. Purchased points will be carried over to the next semester. (Until graduation/completion)
*Points given at the beginning of the semester (Undergraduates:700p, Graduates:2,000p, Law School students:3,000p) will NOT be carried over as before.

New printer name: dokodemo-bw (black-and-white), dokodemo-color (color)
Printing Method from Personal PC
You don’t need to install drivers on your PC.
- Web printing
Login to the site, upload files and print. No driver installation or configuration is necessary.
*File Size: Up to 30MB
Word/Excel/PowerPoint/PDF/text files/image files are supported.

We are considering support for printing from personal smartphones and other devices (using a dedicated application).
Preparations will be made to provide this service by the end of FY2023.
