Sophia ICT Account

To use various services offered by ICT Office, An ID and password given by ICT Office are needed. This is what we call “Sophia ICT Account”.

 

Things you can do with Sophia ICT Account

  • PC Rooms and CALL Rooms
    PCs and Printers are available for writing Essays, printing them out, self-learning, etc.
    Teachers can conduct classes in PC Rooms and CALL Rooms.

  • E-mail (Sophia Mail)
    You can receive and send e-mail from “sophia.ac.jp” account (need initial settings).

  • Campus Network (Wired / Wireless ), eduroam
    You can connect your laptops or cell-phones to internet.
    Teachers can connect your PCs in classrooms and offices.(wired LAN only)

  • Moodle
    Moodle is an online course management system.
    Students can check materials offered by lecturers and hand in assignments via online.
    Teachers can publish silabus or lecture document, give assignments to students on Web, and evaluate them.

  • Other Services
    Create your own Web site, access Library’s Database from home, using OPAC Online, E-learning, etc.
    To use Zoom, please sign up using Sophia Mail address by yourself.

 

 

How to acquire Sophia ICT Account

Some are given account automatically, and some need to apply for account. It differs from his/her position.
The details look at the following.
*Valid (unexpired) ID Card is needed to use Sophia ICT account.

Account notice is given at ceremony.

※ICT Office checks one’s enrollment every academic year. When verified, one can use his/her account continuously.
・Part-time teacher Every academic year in which one have lectures.

・Emeritus professor From Entry – no limitation
*Emeritus professor can use
“@sophia.ac.jp” e-mail address
after retirement.
・Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (JSPS) From application – end of March
