Lending PCs for Students

Please adhere to the following guidelines when using these devices.

Lending PCs

Purpose and use of Lending PCs

The PCs will be lent out for use in emergencies, such as when a personal computer malfunctions.
Therefore, long-term lending is not available.

Eligible Users for PC Lending

Students (Degree students, Non-degree students)

Precautions   

  • Taking lending PCs off campus is prohibited.
  • If you don’t have an IC student card, you cannot use it.
  • Lending PCs must be returned by the end of the day.
  • As a rule, return by proxy will not be accepted.
  • Use for purposes other than classes and self-study is prohibited. Use for personal purposes is not permitted.
  • Please save any created files to a USB memory stick or other storage device.  Files will be deleted upon reboot.
  • O-drives are not available on lending PCs.
  • Please check the device for sufficient charge before use, as it may not be fully charged.
  • Additionally, any use that deviates from the intended purpose is prohibited.
  • Compensation measures may be taken in cases of significant negligence or intentional damage to the lent items or if they are not returned for an extended period.

Lending and Returning Procedures

Please use the automatic lending system to check out a PC.

Please ensure the PC is returned on the same day. 
Please return the PC to the same box from which it was lent.
When returning the PCs, please ensure the power is turned off and verify that all components (PC and AC adapter) are included and not missing.
Please return the charging adapter plugged into an outlet in the box for the next user.
The person who lent the PCs will also be responsible for returning them.

■Lending Procedure
1. Hold your IC Student Card over the reader.

2. The box will open automatically.


3. After taking out the PC and adapter, close the door and ensure the box is marked as “貸出中(In Use)” on the screen.

■Return Procedure
1. Hold your IC Student Card over the reader.

2. The return box will open automatically. 

3. Connect the adapter to the outlet inside the box and return the PC to charging.

4. Close the door to complete the return process.

Software Installation

Office and Calabo-MX are installed. The installation of any other software is prohibited.

Lending External DVD Drives

Purpose and Use of External DVD Drives

The lending PCs and PCs in the COM classroom do not have built-in DVD drives.
If you need to watch a DVD on a PC on campus, you can borrow an external DVD drive from the ICT Office.
Please bring your student ID and visit the ICT Office counter to check out one.

Precautions

  • Taking external DVD drives off campus is prohibited.
  • If you don’t have an IC student card, you cannot borrow it.
  • Check-out is only available during the opening hours of the ICT Office. Please return the borrowed item during the opening hours of the ICT Office on the same day.
  • As a rule, return by proxy will not be accepted.
  • Use for purposes other than classes and self-study is prohibited. Use for personal purposes is not permitted.
